Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam, and Patty Loveless. Tim McGraw has a solid catalog as well if you like his music. If you don’t get many responses, try asking on the forum and see how people respond. Good job on starting with two good artists. Are you interested in anyone predates the artists on your list?

If I had a real job I would be doing the same thing, but I don’t, so I barely have enough money to get the new albums I want.
I’ll pick Kathy Mattea and Patty Loveless. I don’t have any Loveless albums, but I’ll begetting Sleepless Nights very soon, and what I’ve heard is impressive.
Mattea’s Coal was superb, another artist I want more music from. If you don’t have that album, get it for sure.

Dwight, Patty, and Emmylou. Take a look at the new & used section on Amazon.com. You can get used copies of old CDs for just pennies sometimes, and sometimes you can get brand-new factory sealed copies for just a few dollars plus $3 postage.

I’d recommend Patty Loveless, Randy Travis and Emmylou Harris.

well my plan is to see which three get the most reccomendations and start tracking down those three. I have all their recent albums but I’m a completist and I’m trying to complete my collection.
Brady: I’m going backwards in time so after all these are done I’m going to go back a little further. Since I started collecting in 2004 I’ve done most of the current big names and I’ve done a lot of the 90’s.

I own the complete discographies of these artists from your list:
03. Carlene Carter
04. Clay Walker
06. Dwight Yoakam
07. Emmylou Harris
12. Pam Tillis
13. Patty Loveless
14. Randy Travis
17. Tim McGraw
18. Tracy Lawrence
19. Travis Tritt
20. Vince Gill
The only discographies that I somewhat regret are Carlene Carter and Clay Walker. Tracy Lawrence’s isn’t especially strong either. The others are worth getting with Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Randy Travis and Dwight Yoakam at the top of my list. I actually give the highest marks of quality consistency to the Dwight discography…even higher than Vince’s if you can believe it.

Since you already have my #1 pick (Gary Allan), I’d go with Allison Moorer.

So who’d you decide to go with, Meathead? I just needed a reason to use your nickname
Oh, and you should be receiving an autographed copy of Dolly Parton’s Backwoods Barbie in the next couple of days.

Well brady it looks like it’ll be Dwight, Patty and Tim. Also that’s probably the most embarassing nickname ever.

It is much easier to be complete on an artist than it was back when top artists were issuing three or four albums a year (Merle Haggard’s 30th album came out in his ninth year of recording)
In the near future it will again become more difficult as the source becomes digital downloads and the tracks become scattered about
Mattea, Travis Loveless, Lawrence and Yoakam are the most worthwhile names on your list. I like Emmylou but she’s issued some uninteresting albums
